NFA Leadership

 

Level I                                                January 13 (6pm-10pm); January 14 (8:30pm-5:30pm)

This class will give students basic skills and tools needed to perform effectively as a leader in the fire service. Students will learn techniques and approaches to problem solving; identify and assess the needs of the company officer; run meetings effectively in the fire service environment; and learn decision making for the company officer.

 

Level II                                              January 27 (6pm-10pm); January 28 (8:30pm-5:30pm)

This class teaches basic leadership and tools needed to perform effectively in the fire service environment including: ethics, use and abuse of power at the officer level; creativity in the fire service environment; and management of the multiple roles of a company officer. Class is targeted for training officers, fire or rescue personnel due for promotion, line fire officers, unit commanders, or program supervisors seeking a promotion.

 

 

Level III                           February 17 (6pm-10pm); February 18 (8:30pm-5:30pm)

This class will teach basic leadership skills and tools geared toward the company officer to perform effectively in the fire service environment. Students will learn when and how to delegate to subordinates, assess personal leadership styles through situational leadership, discipline subordinates, and apply coaching/motivating techniques.
